Progress Notes: 1/6/03
Finale is a 6 yr old female dairy goat presented at OSU 11 days ago with posterior ataxia.
T = 101.6, P = 84, R = 24, BAR. Walked with tail support, rose ok, but less stamina, only
goes around the ½ way around and lays down, but she will rise again and go 2nd
½ way. Dr. Hull noted intermittent
head tremors earlier today, but they are not present at this time.
Finale is improving slowly, she is back to where she was before her relapse, except for standing on her own with out support. She has not done that again. DDX still Meningeal worm, appetites is good

Finale may be released to owner as soon as
they are able to come pick her up to go home.
Continue walking with support.
Finale is a 6 yr old female dairy goat presented at OSU 12 days ago for posterior ataxia.
T = 101.3, P = 132, R = 32 BAR. No head tremors noted, Walked once around the pen with support, then stood with left side leaning on the wall for over 3 minutes. While standing she raised her left real leg and scratched herself while standing without loosing her balance. Appetite – good/excellent.
Continued improvement, she is better than before her relapse.

Walked with support three times.
A.M. Left rear out at a funny angle, with goat lying down. Helped up with minimal effort. Goat walked with assistance over to the wall where she stood for over 10 minutes and stretched.
Finale stood with tail assistance to raise
up, then learned on the wall for between 3 – 7 minutes 4 more times through
out the day.
Finale is a 6 year old female dairy goat presented at OSU 13 days ago for posterior ataxia.
T = 100.3, P = 120, R = 40, appetite good. Assisted to rise with tail support. Able to stand with left side leaning on the wall. Stood for 10 minutes then left rear leg went down and she dog sat for another 1 – 2 minutes. Attitude is great. She tries to get up on own, but cannot.
Continued improvement.
Spoke with owner 1/7/03. Owner will pick up Friday (1/10/03) around noon as long as she continues to improve.

Assisted to stand at least three times today.
Stood for 5 – 10 minutes per session,
moving more smoothly, but still ataxic.
Finale is a 6yr old female dairy goat who was presented at OSU 14 days ago with posterior Ataxia.
Head tremors intermittently today, appetite excellent. Walked 3 laps this morning then laid down, re-stood her up and she tried to stretch and shake, but she fell down. Later stood when walked for 5 plus minutes with support. One time she stood without any wall support for 10 seconds before falling down.
Head tremors are still present, they may remain there forever or resolve later.

Finale is a 6 yr old female dairy goat who was presented at OSU 15 days ago with posterior ataxia.
T = 99.8, P = 84, R = 24, Appetite great, BAR, Was standing when I entered this morning, (grooms helped her up) and stood for at least 10 minutes against the wall.
Finale is improving and is to go home today.

Released to her owner at 12:30 p.m.
Finale came home on the 10th of January, 2003.
