The Cats

Eddie

Who can help but love a cat? They are the most independent pet you will ever own, but when they love you, you know it! They can completely ignore you one minute and be laying in your lap purring up a storm the next. You just never know what to expect.

My buddies are absolute sweethearts. All but one of them have "people names" and they are as different as people can be. This gorgeous beast is Eddie, "the beast master." Eddie is as round as he is long. He is the cutest guy, though. When he sits on the floor in a "human" pose, he looks like he should have a beer and a bowling ball next to him! I guess if there has to be a favorite, Eddie is mine. When he is bad, Greg threatens to pack his bag (a 20 pound bag of food) and send him to my house! Go ahead, Greg. Punish me!

Eddie is the king of his domain. He moves in a slow manner so he makes sure he doesn't miss anything that is going on around him. The one thing he never misses is a meal!
JoAnn

This pretty little girl is JoAnn, affectionately known as "Scooter." She's a prissy thing! Every hair has to be just so and the calico fur on her is spotless. If there is a queen in the Williams household, it would most likely be JoAnn.

JoAnn was meant to be someone else's cat at first. Holly brought her home to keep her for her friend a couple days and fell so in love with her she couldn't give her up. I'm sure the friend has forgiven her by now, although JoAnn is quite a beauty.

When I visit, JoAnn likes to come and sit at the kitchen table with "us girls" and peep her head out from under the table. She is more active than Eddie and enjoys chasing a catnip toy every now and then. When she's really feeling frisky, you have to watch your fingers. She easily mistakes them for toys!

Spice_Cat

This little sweetie is the only cat that doesn't have a "people name." This is Spice Cat and she is the lovingest cat I've met. She loves everyone.

As soon as you come in the house, Spicey comes to see you. After she has thoroughly checked you out, she wants you to pet her, scratch her, hold her, love her, etc., etc.. She will sit and snooze in your lap and purr forever. She is extremely affectionate for a cat. Her soft, long beige fur is like silk. She will talk to you if you don't pay attention to her and she'll let you know that she's around. She enjoys a good game of "Chase a string" or rolls around with a catnip toy along with JoAnn. This little charmer can melt the heart of the coldest person.

Another one of the indoor cats is Agnes. You rarely see her so I don't have a picture of her yet. She looks something like Eddie, but not quite so big and her fur is more gray than black. Holly says that she has been a very reclusive cat since she came to live with them. She will make an appearance while I'm there, but you can't get near her. Hopefully, she'll allow me the chance to at least get a photo of her. She's quite pretty. Hazel

This is Hazel and she lives outside, unless it gets extremely cold. Hazel looks very much like a cat that I used to have named Autumn. She has the same coloring and wonderful personality.

If I had to compare Hazel to any of the indoor cats, I would say she closely resembles Spice Cat in temperament and personality. Hazel is very friendly and loving, too. She will come to you right away to be petted or picked up. She will purr and purr and stay with you as long as you want to sit outside with her. She's a gentle little thing and doesn't seem to get herself into too much trouble in the outside world.

Last but not least of the cats is the other outside cat. His name is Monty. He is a long and lanky guy with a sweet face that looks like he is an absolute angel. With all his "battle scars," you know he isn't exactly a peaceful type! He is friendly, though, and doesn't have a mean streak to him when it comes to his people friends. I hope to be able to get a picture of him soon, too, so you can see his adorable little face.

Monty is also known as "the weather cat." He seems to be more accurate than any of the local forecasters or even the Weather Channel! If Monty comes home and wants in the house, you can bet there is rain on its way. I think Monty should be consulted for his weather predictions rather than worry about all this high-tech stuff!
Eddie

Here is one more picture of Eddie, the beast master. Take a close look at his back foot. One of Eddie's charms is he has an extra toe on each of his feet. He looks like he pads around with big mittens on!

Eventually, I hope to have all six cats' photos on here. They really are wonderful little creatures and I'm very fond of each and every one. They were all strays, so if you are looking for a furry friend, feed a stray or go to the local animal shelter and bring home a kitten or adult cat. You won't be sorry. It's never a bad thing to share your life with a cuddly cat or dog and you'll have unconditional love.
